FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Uniweld and Tropic Supply Inc. teamed up to educate HVAC technicians on proper flame safety and procedures when working with flame tools. Throughout the month of May, Uniweld held nine seminars across the state of Florida.

With June comes the start of the summer season. In preparation for the warm weather this year, Uniweld and Tropic Supply teamed to present the flame safety seminars, which were open to any HVAC technician. The companies said the signups were a mix of new faces in the industry and experienced technicians looking for continuing education. The two-hour course earned attendees North American Technician Excellence (NATE) continuing education credits.

The seminar covered the basics of flame safety, proper procedures when using compressed gases and flame tools, and a hands-on brazing clinic that allowed attendees to practice their brazing techniques and try out Uniweld’s wide selection of brazing tips.
