BOULDER, Colo. — Renewable Choice Energy announced that it has joined the Rocky Mountain Institute’s Business Renewables Center (BRC) as a founding transaction service provider with an emphasis in power purchase agreement (PPA) brokering. The center, which is comprised of renewable energy buyers, project developers, and service providers, has been created to provide a collaborative opportunity for commercial entities to advance the growth of renewable energy.

Founded in 2001, Renewable Choice said it has pioneered corporate green power buying, providing renewable energy to large companies utilizing 100 percent wind power for their businesses. As the renewable energy market has grown, Renewable Choice has added carbon offsets, sustainability consulting, and renewable energy advisory services to its portfolio.

Renewable Choice received the Green Power Supplier of the Year award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 2012 and 2014.

“In the past several years, we have seen large-scale wind and solar PPA prices reach and beat parity with conventional sources of energy in many markets. This has led to the increasing appetite for long-term, cost-effective solutions in corporate renewables, and the BRC will provide a hub for buyers and providers to come together pre-competitively in order to advance the development of clean energy,” said Quayle Hodek, CEO of Renewable Choice Energy. “We are delighted to be included in the inaugural launch of this valuable resource.”
