HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — IRWIN® Tools has announced the launch of its Ultimate Tradesman Contest. Community members throughout North America are invited to nominate themselves, or a tradesperson in their community, to become IRWIN’s Ultimate Tradesman for the chance to win a new Ford F-150 truck and one of nine monthly prizes worth up to $250.

“We are excited to launch a program that will give communities an opportunity to join us in celebrating the trade professionals who make a positive difference in each of our lives,” said Nick Mastrone, vice president of marketing. “IRWIN Tools has always looked for new ways to honor the men and women who play a critical role in building and maintaining our country’s infrastructure, beginning with National Tradesmen Day four years ago and now with our search to find the Ultimate Tradesman. We look forward to reading the submissions and continuing to celebrate all that trade professionals do to contribute so meaningfully to our lives.”

Each month, one nominated tradesperson will be selected to win an IRWIN tool bag with up to $250 in tools, including VISE-GRIP® GrooveLock pliers, a ProTouch™ retractable utility knife, SPEEDBOR® max speed bits, VISE-GRIP Fast Release™ locking pliers, a universal handsaw, QUICK-GRIP® mini one-handed bar clamps, and MARATHON® with WeldTec™ circular saw blades. One grand prize winner will receive a 2015 Ford F-150 4x4 SuperCrew Cab pickup truck, new IRWIN tools, and an expense paid trip for two to attend the IRWIN Ultimate Tradesman crowning ceremony at the IRWIN Tools North American headquarters in Huntersville, North Carolina, on Sept. 18, 2015.

Nominations must include an essay of up to 500 words stating why the entrant believes they or a tradesperson they know has made a difference in their community. The competition runs through June 30, 2015 with a limit of one nomination per entrant.

The competition is open to residents 18 years of age and older in the 48 contiguous states of the United States, and residents over the age of majority in Canada. To read the official rules and to nominate a tradesman or woman in your community, visit www.irwin.com/nominateatradesman.
