MILWAUKEE — Telkonet Inc. announced the installation of its EcoSmart energy management system at Denver Housing Authority’s (DHA) Barney Ford Heights subsidized housing facility. Located in downtown Denver, Barney Ford Heights provides subsidized housing to nearly 100 seniors.

Chris Jedd, LEED AP BD+C, portfolio energy manager for DHA, said, “We had little to no information or control of tenant HVAC energy consumption. The installation of EcoSmart will provide energy savings, improved occupant comfort, and important information on how these spaces are occupied. Telkonet’s EcoCentral Virtual Engineer will provide DHA with access to energy use data in real-time, enabling remote management of HVAC mechanical systems and reporting on system performance and health. The energy savings data will help determine the viability of EcoSmart technology in similar applications where occupants are long-term tenants.”

Jason Tienor, Telkonet CEO, said, “We are pleased to have completed this installation to improve the resident’s comfort and give DHA powerful tools to efficiently manage their facilities. Our innovative EcoSmart control system brings real value to reduce installation and startup costs and continually manage energy costs for quick payback of their investment.”

The Denver Housing Authority provides affordable housing to low and middle-income individuals representing over 10,000 families. DHA has transformed public housing in Denver, creating a vibrant, revitalized, sustainable, transit oriented, and mixed-income community of choice. Denver Housing Authority’s mission is to serve the residents of Denver by developing, owning, and operating safe, decent, and affordable housing in a manner that promotes thriving communities.
