Two engineered polymer (EP) multiport tees are designed to meet the increasing demand in commercial plumbing systems using cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) pipe, the company said. The high-flow branch and flow-through EP multiport tees are targeted for commercial installations where supply lines are required to be upsized due to pressure or code requirements. The fittings also can be used for hydronic distribution piping (HDP) applications. They have the same temperature and pressure ratings as the manufacturer’s PEX-a pipe, which is also approved for use in HDP applications. Both the branch and flow-through multiports feature 1¼-inch inlets with three ¾-inch outlets. According to the manufacturer, they feature the unique ProPEX® connection that capitalizes on the shape memory of the company’s PEX pipe to create strong, durable connections that hold tight upon 1,000 pounds of radial force.
