The HVACR industry is ready to take down the Big Apple. For the first time since 2008, the AHR Expo will be in New York. A quick look at weather.com showed me that while it will be cold, there will probably be no need to pack the moon boots.

In 2008, it established a then all-time attendance record of more than 39,000 visitors. This year more than 1,800 exhibiting companies have already reserved 387,000 square feet of booth space, exceeding the record-breaking exhibit space reserved for the 2008 AHR Expo in New York City by nearly 6 percent.

The mood going into the Expo this year appears to be positive. A recent survey by ASHRAE/AHR Expo of more than 1,000 HVACR manufacturers worldwide stated 79 percent of respondents said their prospects for business were either excellent (19 percent) or good (60 percent) for the coming year.

So soak up this great city and all the products on the show floor. And be sure to check back to achrnews.com/ahrexpo for all the latest news.

I, for one, have not been able to get Frank Sinatra’s song “New York, New York” out of my head this week so I felt I should burden our readers with that also. Please click on the video below and belt out the song on your flight to New York. See you there.
