CHICAGO — Intertek has announced a new four-year agreement with the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) to extend a nearly 50 year partnership supporting performance testing of HVACR and water heating equipment. The renewed partnership leverages Intertek’s facilities, expertise, and testing capabilities.

“AHRI’s certification demonstrates that manufacturers’ performance claims have been independently measured and verified, increasing credibility and consumer confidence in the marketplace,” said Stephen Yurek, AHRI president and CEO. “Product regulators and specifiers around the world rely on AHRI for accurate and independent evaluation of HVACR equipment. Intertek’s expertise in testing these products assists us in the independent and accurate verification of HVACR equipment performance.”

Intertek has tested HVACR equipment for over six decades and has been a close partner with AHRI for almost 50 years. Intertek’s engineers test HVACR equipment selected by AHRI to verify that the equipment used in North America and abroad meets the performance claims of manufacturers when measured to AHRI-established standards.

“Intertek’s state-of-the-art labs, technical expertise, and unmatched throughput allow us to be the industry leader in HVACR testing and a trusted partner to AHRI,” said Nimer Al-Hafi, president, U.S. Products, Intertek. “We are proud to contribute to the advancement of the HVACR industry overall, and more specifically we’re honored to be chosen once again by AHRI as a major independent laboratory partner.”
