NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y., and FRESH MEADOWS, N.Y. — Jerry DiCunzolo, president and CEO of Power-Flo Technologies Group, and Jerry Pindus, president and CEO of US Energy Group, have announced the merger of the two companies. Power-Flo Technologies Group is adding US Energy Group to its corporate portfolio of energy companies. The firms said the merger brings a comprehensive approach to energy management products and services, with synergy in all areas where energy is consumed: heating, cooling, lighting, pumping systems, and power quality.

Going forward, the strategy includes expanding the electrical and plumbing products and services currently offered by Power-Flo Technologies and adding all aspects of US Energy Group’s fuel, electric, and water management services in commercial, residential, and institutional buildings.

“Adding US Energy Group’s strength in comprehensive energy management, technological innovation, and its savvy management team, enables us to take all of our services to the next level,” said DiCunzolo. “We are offering customers unprecedented support in managing and reducing their fuel, electric, and water costs, while increasing building efficiency and tenant comfort.”

A key element of this synergy will be TEEMSM (Total Energy Efficiency Management), an enhanced service that provides a dedicated, live energy manager who handles daily alert monitoring, reviews, investigates and identifies a range of concerns, helps resolve all HVAC system issues, and conducts trend analyses. TEEM — together with USE-Manager online monitoring software — is a service available for all buildings and systems, and especially those using US Energy Group’s flagship building energy management system (BEMS) to reduce fuel usage by 15-30 percent with a payback in less than two years.

“Our combined vision is to provide owners and managers with the information, technology, and products needed to run their buildings more efficiency,” said Pindus. “As part of Power-Flo Technologies Group, we can serve our customers comprehensively, with integrated expertise and expanded products and services, all focused on providing owners and managers with greater peace of mind.”

Power-Flo Technologies Group is a conglomerate of electrical wholesalers, United Electric Power, Long Island Electrical, Dittman & Greer, and Aetna Electric; plumbing wholesaler, Klausner Plumbing; switch gear manufacturer, Electric Switchboard Solutions; pump manufacturer, Power-Flo Pumps; and systems and control panel manufacturer, Power-Flo Control. DiCunzolo has been at the helm of Power-Flo Technologies Group for over 29 years expanding the business through organic growth and acquisitions.

US Energy Group is a building energy management solutions firm, which develops and integrates energy control, monitoring, and analysis hardware and software systems for large residential, commercial, and institutional properties. Founded by Pindus in 1978, the company has grown to monitor and service over 3,800 building installations in the Northeast.
