Course Description: IGSHPA has designed a program offering advanced training towards certification as a Certified GeoExchange Designer (CGD). From an introduction to the technology to a complete review of the design process, participants learn the specific information they need to know. Topics covered include commercial and residential ground-source heat pump design; closed loop, ground heat exchanger, configurations, and layout; soil/rock classification and conductivity; borehole grouting; ground-loop heat exchanger software; and ground-source heat pump in system performance. The course is taught by James Bose, Ph.D., P.E., director of the division of engineering technology at Oklahoma State University.
