DALLAS — TDIndustries announced the firm has signed “The CEO Pledge,” a leadership campaign sponsored by the National Coalition of Promoting Physical Activity (NCPPA). The campaign aims to promote physical activity as an important driver of employee health and wellness, impacting overall business performance.

According to the NCPPA, CEOs who sign The CEO Pledge agree to implement at least six strategies to create and promote a culture of physical activity in their workplaces. A mix of strategies from three categories — behavioral support, educational support, and environmental or policy support — are key factors in achieving maximum cultural impact.

“On behalf of our TDParters, it is an honor to sign The CEO Pledge,” said Harold MacDowell, CEO of TDIndustries. “We consider our health and wellness programs important initiatives, right up there with our safety programs. We are pleased to participate in raising national awareness of the benefits of a healthy workplace.”

TDIndustries will offer a third-party wellness program, provide expense reimbursements for half the cost of personal fitness tools, encourage manufacturing and construction workers to stretch before a shift, subsidize membership fees to fitness facilities, create an indoor walking trail in the corporate office, and host annual health fairs.

“Our TDPartners understand the connection between the benefits of having healthy workers and a healthy corporate bottom-line,” MacDowell said. “As an employee-owned company, it is also very rewarding to see the results of increased productivity, improved morale, and reduced health care expenses related to our wellness program. We all benefit from these improvements.”
