Industry Veteran Joins Mechanical Contractor

HORSHAM, Pa. — Leading Philadelphia-area mechanical contracting firm Burns Mechanical has announced the appointment of Robert Roof as project manager. Roof is a 30-year construction industry veteran.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Bob Roof to the Burns’ family,” said Dan Kerr, president. “Bob has a strong reputation for managing challenging renovation projects for his clients. He adds versatile, hands-on depth to our project management team, which will serve as a robust company-wide resource in our delivery of solutions required for the construction and servicing of high-performing buildings.”

Roof will report to director of construction operations Keith Thomas. Thomas is responsible for all project management activities, the technical development team, the company’s fabrication shop, and the construction labor force.

Roof maintains professional engineering licenses in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. He began his career as a mechanical engineer for Gulf Oil in 1981, and his most recent position before joining Burns was project manager for Fluidics of Philadelphia. An active participant in several engineering-related trade organizations, Roof currently serves as vice president of the Philadelphia Chapter of the National Certified Pipe Welding Bureau.
