NORWALK, Conn. — Steven Winter Associates Inc. announced that the firm has launched a new website for the Consortium for Advanced Residential Buildings (CARB) that provides users with a more intuitive and efficient way of browsing. The new CARB website,www.carb-swa.com, serves as a resource for builders, engineers, and other members of the home building industry. The content of the updated website includes technical case studies, building guides, and other materials for reducing home energy use. The website has a new look and feel and includes a searchable database for the first time, making it more user friendly than the former CARB website.

CARB, led by Steven Winter Associates, is one of the original core residential research teams that are a part of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Building America program, formed to reduce home energy use by up to 50 percent. CARB is a leader in advanced residential building research and design, and focuses on market delivery and cost-effective demonstrations of high performance retrofits and new homes. Much of the research conducted for CARB consists of systems optimization and the incorporation of new technologies into existing homes, with the ultimate goal of significantly improving energy efficiency in American homes.
