MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill. — To comply with the International Energy Code, over half of the states now require duct testing for both new construction and retrofit. To help meet the need for qualified duct testing, ESCO Institute announced that it is now offering a complete duct and envelope training package that it says is easy to integrate into any training program.

The program includes a training manual, instructors PowerPoint with speaker’s notes, and an end of course certification.

The training manual provides an in-depth understanding of envelope and duct leakage testing procedures, methods of expressing results, and terminology. Content includes: energy efficiency, blower door testing method for whole house leakage rate, duct testing methods for total leakage and leakage to the outside.

For HVACR educators and trainers, a PowerPoint correlating directly with the training manual is available. Each slide within the presentation contains speaker notes that are designed to aid the instructor through the presentation and provide additional talking points.

ESCO Institute offers both written and hands on certifications to validate a person’s retained knowledge of the program and that they can apply it.

Contractors can order the manual at www.escoinst.com. HVACR educators and trainers can learn more about the program by contacting Renee Tomlinson at 800-726-9696.
