WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has issued a pre-publication Federal Register notice of proposed rulemaking regarding energy conservation standards for walk-in coolers and walk-in freezers. A public meeting has also been scheduled for October.

DOE will hold the public meeting on Oct. 9, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the U.S. Department of Energy, Forrestal Building, Room 8E-089, 1000 Independence Avenue, SW., Washington, DC 20585. To attend, notify Brenda Edwards at 202-586-2945 or via email at Brenda.Edwards@ee.doe.gov.

For those who cannot attend the public meeting, the meeting will also be broadcast as a webinar. A webinar seat can be reserved at https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/225220968.

There will also be a public comment period that will close 60 days after the date of publication in the Federal Register.
