OAKLAND, Calif. — Lucid has introduced BuildingOS®, an online operating system for energy management. According to the company, the cloud-based technology enables commercial building owners and operators to quickly aggregate building information from multiple vendors into one unified source, thus eliminating vendor lock-in, consolidating building systems data for analysis, and reducing system integration costs.

BuildingOS connects with over 150 metering and building systems, including the majority of building automation systems, submeters, lighting and plug load controls, on-site generation systems, demand response providers, as well as electric and gas utilities. Advanced data acquisition tools allow users to minimize time spent collecting information and focus their efforts on identifying savings opportunities, increasing behavioral and operational efficiency, and tracking improvements across entire portfolios of buildings, said the company.

According to Lucid CEO Vladi Shunturov, BuildingOS solves a difficult problem in the energy efficiency sector — specifically, how to connect a building’s disparate energy-related systems.

“Proprietary communication and integration hurdles have been the Achilles heel of the energy management industry for decades,” said Shunturov. “BuildingOS changes all that. Now, building managers can have a portfolio-wide solution to track energy, water, and building performance information, without vendor lock-in or costly system integration fees.”

Lucid said BuildingOS has been in an extensive beta program with over 300 customers.

BuildingOS is available on computers, tablets, and smartphones. For more information, visit www.luciddesigngroup.com.
