The Food Marketing Institute (FMI)Energy and Store Development Conferencewill be held Sept. 8-10 at the Hilton Baltimore in Baltimore.

Highlighted educational sessions include Food Retailing 2013: Tomorrow’s Trends Delivered Today, The Art and Science Behind Compelling Fresh Food Formats, Supermarket Energy Reduction Plans, Optimizing Store Design and Décor, and Refrigeration Leak Detection.

There will also be breakout sessions on such topics as Refrigeration 101, Condenser Overview, Refrigerant Leak Detection, Retrofits, Refrigerant Update, Ammonia/CO2 Refrigeration, Supermarket Energy Reduction Plan, Energy Management Systems, Regulatory Trends in Building Codes, and Small Store Formats.

The first day, Sept. 8, includes a golf tournament and store tours. The next two days, Sept. 9 and 10, include the general sessions and breakouts. Also on the Sept. 8 and 9, attendees will be able to spend time one-on-one with a number of industry manufacturers. A concluding event on Sept. 10 is a baseball game at Camden Yards between the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees.
