COLUMBUS, Ohio — Rebuilding Together has launched its search for the 2013 Tradesperson of the Year. Nominations of tradespersons who demonstrate service to their communities and show leadership in their chosen trade can be made atRTTradespersonoftheyear.com. HGTV/DIY Network on-air host Chris Grundy kicked-off the campaign in conjunction with Rebuilding Together’s Building a Healthy Neighborhood project supported by Lowe’s.

Eligible tradespersons may be nominated in multiple skill categories including: carpenter, contractor, electrician, roofer, HVAC/plumber, and painter. Nominees will be judged on service to their community and contributions to their industry. The public may cast online votes for a nominee beginning Sept. 9, to coincide with United We Serve National Day of Service and Remembrance. The Tradesperson of the Year receives a trip for two to next season’s Super Bowl XLVIII with travel, lodging, and $500 in spending cash included. The Tradesperson of the Year will be announced on Oct. 12 at the Fall 2013 Remodelers and Deck Expo in Chicago.

Mark and Theresa Clement of MyFixItUplife will interview The Tradesperson of the Year and five finalists on their skilled trades talk show. Chris Grundy will provide Tradesperson of the Year on-air announcements and updates on HGTV/DIY throughout the campaign.

“Rebuilding Together’s Tradesperson of the Year campaign recognizes the tremendous contribution made every day by skilled trades professionals who give back to their communities, contribute to their industry, and reflect the values of integrity, community service, and volunteerism,” said John White, Rebuilding Together’s chief business officer.
