TORONTO — ecobee Inc., makers of the ecobee Smart Thermostat, has announced the launch of its new public application programming interface (API). Through the API, ecobee said the company and its partners will create connected home solutions for homeowners.

ecobee’s API provides developers with a complete tool set to help them develop applications that integrate with ecobee’s smart thermostats. Partners developing apps for the ecobee platform include: Mi Casa Verde, Smart Things, The UBI, Earth Networks, Integral Analytics, Auto Grid, Energy Sherlock, MMB Research Solutions, and more.
