More than 25 HVAC contractors recently spread out throughout the Washington, D.C., metro area to service heating equipment for military families. The contractors voluntarily offered their service technician’s time and basic materials to ensure that systems were ready for the cold weather.

Partnering with the USO, the Air Conditioning Contractors of America-National Capital Chapter (ACCA-NCC), serviced more than 67 homes as a way of giving back to service personnel. “We, as a country, ask so much of our military and their families. Our association wanted to do something to say ‘thank you’ for all they do,” said Mike Brennan, pres-ident, ACCA-NCC.

The association is planning to perform a Service for Our Servicemen check program this spring, monitoring the installed systems. The association is once again partnering with the USO to perform the work.

ACCA-NCC is a nonprofit trade association. They service the HVACR industry in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
