Munters Corp.: Indirect Evaporative Cooling SystemCooling air without added moisture, the Oasis EPX5000 Indirect Evaporative Cooling System can recover 50 percent of the heat exhausted from the space in the winter months, the company said. By using a cross-flow, corrosion-resistant polymer heat exchanger, water does not comes in contact with the air being supplied to the space. Using indirect evaporative cooling as the first stage of cooling makeup air substantially reduces energy costs, said the company. The second stage of cooling is handled by conventional air conditioning. According to the manufacturer, the use of an indirect evaporative cooling system, in conjunction with a mechanical a/c system, offsets cooling loads and significantly reduces energy consumption during peak design conditions, which helps qualify for utility rebates. Product applications include schools, casinos, supermarkets, hospitals, airports, retail locations, and industrial processes.
