Course Title: Residential EPIC Training

Sponsoring Organization: Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA)

Date: July 16-19, 2013

Location: Arlington, Va.

Description: The class will certify HVACR professionals to teach residential heating and cooling system design principles using standard-setting manuals and materials from ACCA’s environmental systems library. It is a train-the-trainers workshop, designed for those who already have considerable exposure and familiarity with HVAC design procedures. EPIC training focuses on technical competence, not on teaching. There is no requirement for prior teaching experience. Prerequisites for the class are available on the ACCA website.

Manuals and course materials received include Manual J (residential load calculation), Manual D (residential duct systems), Manual H (heat pump systems), Manual P (psychrometrics), Manual RS (comfort, air quality, and efficiency by design), Manual S (residential equipment selection), Manual T (air distribution basics), Manual 4 (perimeter heating and cooling), Manual TT-102 (understanding the friction chart), and a duct calculation slide rule.
