FORT WORTH, Texas — Remington College Fort Worth Campus has named William Smith as department chair for its new Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) diploma program. In his new position, Smith will implement academic program objectives, help develop the curriculum, and oversee students and staff.

Smith has more than 16 years of experience as a maintenance supervisor and HVAC technician with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He served as maintenance supervisor at the Alfred Hughes maximum security prison in Gatesville, Texas. His duties included teaching inmates in a state mandated HVAC program. He also received training himself through courses provided by the state of Texas and various suppliers.

Smith also operated his own HVAC company in central Texas and has been a certified air conditioning contractor since 1997.

Remington College Fort Worth Campus is located at 300 East Loop 820 in Fort Worth.
