FAIRVIEW, Ore. — General Pacific Inc. has announced the spin-off of its Conservation Products Division into a standalone, privately held company called EcoTone Products LLC. The new company is focused exclusively on the wholesale distribution of energy conservation products across the continental United States.

EcoTone Products handles the distribution of products related to energy efficiency, water conservation, renewable energy, and demand response. EcoTone Products leverages its manufacturer relationships, technology expertise, and efficient distribution capabilities in supporting customers with their needs for energy conservation products.

General Pacific said it identified the need to adjust its operations to accommodate the substantial business growth in its Conservation Products Division over the past three years. “We restructured our way of going to market,” said Roch Naleway, general manager of EcoTone Products. “We upgraded our organization’s structure and strategy to expand existing relationships and target new markets.”

EcoTone Products has its roots working with electric utility customers in the Pacific Northwest. General Pacific is owned by electric co-op utilities located in the Pacific Northwest and has served electric utilities since 1965. “We started distributing energy efficient Rheem Marathon water heaters to electric co-op utilities in 2002,” said Rick Hall, CEO and president of General Pacific. The customer base has grown significantly over the years. EcoTone Products serves electric and water utilities, implementation contractors, CAP (community action program) agencies, retailers, as well as home performance contractors, HVAC contractors, and plumbers.

EcoTone Products retains an extensive product line card that includes water heating, ductless mini-split heat pumps, ventilation products (ERV and HRV), and more.
