WILMINGTON, Del. — DuPont Refrigerants and EOS Climate have announced a program to stimulate the return of recovered CFC refrigerants. The new CFC BuyBack Program gives DuPont distributors access to a streamlined process and gives contractors and business owners the same economic benefit for both small and large quantities of CFCs.

“We believe this program will motivate contractors and equipment owners to go beyond compliance to reach sustainability goals, reduce their carbon footprint, and capture unrealized economic value,” said Joyce Wallace, North America regional business and marketing manager, DuPont Refrigerants. “We are encouraging our distributors and their customers to promote this CFC collection and destruction initiative.”

The program will be offered through the nationwide network of DuPont Refrigerant Distributors and Reclaim Centers as an expansion of the current reclaim program provided by DuPont. This initiative is intended to drive responsible handling through return and destruction of all quantities of CFC refrigerants through aggregation at DuPont distributor locations. Eligible refrigerants include R-11, R-12, R-113, R-114, R-115, and R-500.

“EOS is pleased to partner with DuPont to provide sustainable and economically valuable end-of-life solutions for CFC refrigerants,” said Henry Miner, vice president of stewardship participation, EOS Climate. “DuPont is a logical partner for us, based on their years of industry leadership and innovation, as well as their clearly established corporate sustainability initiatives.”
