Achieving MERV 8 in air filtration, the ePure® is a fiberglass-based air filter. It is constructed with a polymer coating chemistry combined with an advanced glass-fiber design. The dust particles encounter the polymer, not the glass, said the manufacturer. The polymer coating is engineered to trap and hold dust. Because of the depth and graduated fiber sizes, the engineered structure of the advanced lofted fibers provides the particulate trapping area. There’s no face loading, said the company. The air filter is available in sizes to fit residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Less than 10 percent of ePure is derived from oil, and over 70 percent comes from recycled materials.
