SAN ANTONIO — Champion AC, a San Antonio-based air conditioning and heating company, has teamed up with the San Antonio Spurs to give away two free air conditioning units at the end of the NBA season.

“San Antonio loves the Spurs, and we’re really excited to team up with them to help homeowners here,” said Ben Hubbert, co-owner of Champion AC.

One of the systems up for grabs is an LG mini-split ductless system. Champion AC noted these ductless systems are becoming a more popular option with homeowners because of their high energy efficiency. Some ductless systems are rated up to 28 SEER, meaning a homeowner’s electric bill could be cut in half.

“This type of system is perfect for home additions and/or areas without ductwork,” said Tony Martinez, co-owner of Champion AC.

The second unit Champion AC is giving away is a traditional air conditioning system — a 15 SEER Amana unit.

The giveaway winners will be announced at the end of the NBA playoffs.
