ARLINGTON, Va. — North American Technician Excellence (NATE) announced new national NATE-recognized courses that have been recently approved for continuing education credit (CEU) hours.

“We are pleased to continue to build the number and diversity of the NATE-recognized CEU courses available for NATE-certified technicians,” said Don Frendberg, chairman, NATE Board of Trustees. “These courses will help them stay current on the latest in HVACR service and installation and help maintain their specialty certifications. While they are available on a national scale, we encourage technicians to frequently visit the listing of training locations on the NATE website to find the in-person or online courses most convenient to them.”

NATE-recognized courses have been aligned to demonstrate the relationship between the course content and the elements of a specific knowledge area of technician expertise. Technicians who choose to recertify using NATE-recognized training organizations for continuing education hours must attend at least 60 hours of education per specialty that directly relates to their areas
of certification.

Courses that cover multiple specialties can be used to receive credit hours for each specialty, including, but not limited to, electrical, code or standards, controls, OSHA or safety, and airflow. Technicians may also submit documentation on other training courses taken that are not currently NATE-recognized, as long as they are technical in nature and related to his or her specialty. Course documentation must include course name, description, length, and course provider.
