WASHINGTON — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named Air King, West Chester, Pa., as a 2013 Energy Star Partner of the Year for its outstanding contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing energy-efficient products and educating consumers about energy efficiency.

Air King has been an Energy Star partner since 2002, with this being the second straight year they have been honored with the award, in part by adding more Energy Star-qualified exhaust fans and range hoods.

Through its “Change the World, Start with Energy Star” pledge campaign, Air King has reportedly saved more than 20.7 million pounds of greenhouse gases.

“Through their commitment to producing quality energy-efficient Energy Star products, Air King has demonstrated its commitment to saving consumers money and protecting our environment,” said Bob Perciasepe, EPA acting administrator. “Air King is recognized for this outstanding effort that has helped protect the climate for all Americans.”

Air King was pleased to receive the honor.

“Our partnership with Energy Star allows us to provide high-quality products that help our customers save energy and money,” said Jeff Kenkelen, president, Air King. “We see growing customer demand for high-performing products that also help protect the environment.”

The 2013 Partner of the Year awards are given to manufacturers and retailers that successfully promote and deliver Energy Star-qualified products, saving consumers money and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Award winners are selected from nearly 20,000 organizations that participate in the Energy Star program.
