April 4, 2013: Emerson Climate Technologies Air Conditioning Business Receives Award

ST. LOUIS — Emerson has recognized the Air Conditioning business of Emerson Climate Technologies Inc. with its 2012 Chairman’s Operational Excellence Award. This award is the company’s highest business honor, presented annually at the discretion of Emerson’s CEO. The winner is judged by independent auditor evaluations of industry leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, measurement, analysis, knowledge management, and business results.

The Air Conditioning business won the Chairman’s award based on superior performance in the evaluated categories and for delivering consistent business results in the face of a tough economic environment the past three years. David Farr, Emerson chairman and chief executive officer, visited the business’s main facility in Sidney, Ohio, to recognize the accomplishments of employees and present the award.

In addition to earning the Chairman’s Award, the Air Conditioning Business was also recently recognized with Emerson’s President’s Award for its Reynosa, Mexico Copeland Scroll™ compressor manufacturing facility based on similar objective criteria as judged within a single manufacturing facility.

“We have a tremendous team of employees working hard every day to ensure the success of this business. They deserve the credit for consistently meeting our customers’ needs and delivering outstanding value to our shareholders,” said Brent Schroeder, president, Air Conditioning business of Emerson Climate Technologies. “Even in these challenging economic times and through significant industry change, our focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement plus investment in industry leading technologies has contributed to the business’ success.”

The Air Conditioning business serves the U.S. residential and commercial air conditioning market segments as a leader in compressor technology with its Copeland Scroll compressors.
