A. Zahner Co. executive vice president Robert Zahner was recognized for his outstanding service and was named the SMACNA contractor of the year for his work as the management co-chair of the International Training Institute during a time of change.

SMACNA Mid-Atlantic chapter executive Bernie Brill received the Petersen-Dunn award for Chapter Executive of the Year.

SMACNA also addressed its leadership, making numerous changes.

Howard Stine of C.E. Jarrell Mechanical Contractors of Earth City, Mo., was named SMACNA president. Additionally, William Eustace of Heating & Plumbing Engineers Inc., in Colorado Springs, Colo.; Tom DeMusis of Wm. J. Donovan in Philadelphia; John Gundlach of Hermanson Co., of Kent, Wash.; and Roy Ricci of McCusker-Gill Inc., in Hingham, Mass., all will serve four-year terms. In addition to the awards, SMACNA made a donation of $5,000 to the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation.
