The Adap-Kool® AK-CC 550 refrigeration case and cold-room controller optimizes energy using predefined application types to adapt to different refrigeration case or cold-room configurations. It uses predefined settings to configure input and outputs to interface with up to 10 different applications. Eight applications include display cases or cold-storage rooms with one valve, one evaporator, and one refrigeration section. Other applications cover configurations for one valve, two refrigeration sections, and one or two evaporators. Controller features include day/night thermostat; product sensor inputs with separate alarm limits; adaptive control of superheat and adaptive defrosting control based on evaporator performance; defrost with electric, natural gas, or hot gas; fan pulsing; rail-heat control via day/night load or dew point; case cleaning; and control of two compressors. An external display can be directly connected with a built-in plug. Modbus® communications is standard. TCP/IP and LonWorks™ protocols are supported with optional communication cards. The compact controller weighs 0.9 pounds and can be DIN-rail or wall-mounted.
