Jan. 3, 2013: Fleetmatics Now Provides Fleet Management to More Than 300,000 Vehicles

BOSTON — Fleetmatics Group PLC announced that it is now providing more than 17,000 customers with fleet management data and analysis on the daily activities of more than 300,000 vehicles. The company provides fleet management solutions for small and mid-sized businesses marketed under both the Fleetmatics and SageQuest brands.

Fleetmatics Group’s fleet tracking systems use GPS satellite technology to provide real-time locations and record historical vehicle activity. Its systems are accessed through a cost-effective software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery model that can be installed quickly and activated at a low cost, said the company. Fleet tracking information can be accessed 24 hours a day by a smartphone app or through an Internet connection. The technology is leveraged by a variety of industries that include HVAC, plumbing, construction, cable and telecom, waste/water, wholesale delivery, and distribution.

“In today’s challenging economic climate, small- and mid-sized business owners face pressures on many fronts. Fuel prices are on the rise; margins are slim; competition is fierce; capital is precious, so fleet owners are seeking every advantage,” said Jim Travers, CEO of Fleetmatics Group. “The rapid growth that achieved this milestone demonstrates that our GPS-based fleet management is easy to understand, reliable, and best of all, helps business owners reduce risk and so they can focus on making their operations better. We provide insights that measurably improve business decision making, enhance the bottom line, and provide significant returns on a small investment.”
