Shannon, born Dec. 6, 1945, entered the HVAC industry as a service technician with TAB Services in 1966, founded Research Air Flo in 1977, and became a National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) certified supervisor in 1989. He served on the NEBB board of directors 1991-2011, occupying the roles of president, secretary, and treasurer, as well as a member of the technical committee.
Shannon is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Ann; his son, Joel Shannon (Lynn); daughter, Judy Stein (Britt); four grandchildren, Abbie Stein, John Shannon, Elizabeth Shannon, and Will Stein; in-laws, L.H. and Ann Tribble; sister, Susan Pethel (Paige); and brothers, Chris Shannon (Ann) and David Shannon.
