Course Description: The course will provide attendees with the knowledge needed to be proficient and successful with scroll compressor technology. The basic- to intermediate-level course clearly demonstrates the principles and advantages of scroll technology and emphasizes practical learning that can be put to use immediately.

Topics covered in the seminar include system fundamentals, refrigerants and oils, applicable environmental regulations, scroll technology and principles, scroll components, scroll vs. reciprocating design, compressor failure modes, internal safety controls, scroll compressor changeout, a/c scroll applications, digital technologies, UltraTech applications, variable-speed scroll, and online tools and mobile applications.

Students can earn four hours of North American Technician Excellence-recognized continuing education credit towards recertification in the areas of Air Conditioning Installation and Service, Air Distribution Installation and Service, and Heat Pump Installation and Service. Students can also earn 0.4 CEUs for this program.
