Nov. 14, 2012: CABA Announces Collaboration with Ocean Alliance

OTTAWA — The Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA) announced that it has become a participant member of the EnOcean Alliance, and with this step, the two organizations have also signed a memorandum of understanding. The objective of the agreement is to share information and work in a collaborative manner on intelligent building and connected home technologies issues to further the development of the market throughout the world.

The EnOcean Alliance is dedicated to energy harvesting wireless automation solutions for sustainable buildings. Its more than 300 members integrate EnOcean technology into their products and systems to help make buildings more energy efficient and reduce cost.

CABA is an international trade organization dedicated to advancing technology and integrated systems in homes and buildings, along with creating opportunities for its members’ business activities and serving as a source of information, knowledge, and networking for industry stakeholders.

As part of the agreement, CABA will establish collaborative activities with the EnOcean Alliance to engage a broad array of stakeholders including the utility industry, regulatory agencies, energy, building automation, telecommunications, controls and information technology vendors, technology companies, consumer groups, government, and non-governmental organizations.

“CABA is very pleased to be partnering with EnOcean Alliance. This forward-thinking memorandum of understanding will set in motion a chain reaction that will accelerate the application of intelligent building and connected home technologies,” said Ronald J. Zimmer, CABA president and CEO.

“I am very excited that CABA is now a member of the EnOcean Alliance and that we have entered into this agreement of collaboration,” said Graham Martin, chairman of EnOcean Alliance. “It will allow acceleration of our joint pursuit to enhance the development and deployment of innovative building automation technology worldwide.”
