Both the 500- and 560-mm fans are electronically commutated (EC) axial fans. They have finned blades and an advanced pitch design that deliver maximum efficiency for specialized applications such as data center cooling. Applications for the EC axial fans include use in data centers, heat pumps, condensers, cooling units, evaporators, and chillers. The fans feature finned blades with a special pitch that increases fan efficiency. The 500-mm model can deliver up to 6,000 cfm of airflow. The 560-mm model offers a top airflow of 7,000 cfm. The finned blade design also helps reduce fan noise. The fans feature long-life, low-temperature brushless dc motors that are controlled by maintenance-free electronic circuitry. With reduced mechanical content, the fans run cooler and quieter, require little or no maintenance, and are easily speed-controlled, said the company. The EC axial fans can be connected directly to a pressure sensor or a thermometer for closed-loop applications. According to the manufacturer, networking is simple using a computer with an RS485 interface, and the fans are Modbus-compatible.
