Symposium Heads to Philly

BALTIMORE — Danfoss announced its next EnVisioneering Symposium. “Building Blueprint for a Clean Energy Future,” will be held Thursday, Oct. 25, at The Navy Yard in Philadelphia.

Co-hosted by The Energy Efficient Buildings Hub (EEBHub) and the GridSTAR Center, a coordinated effort of the Pennsylvania State University College of Engineering and Center for Sustainability, this symposium will join executives in HVAC and related industries, government, architectural, and consulting engineering and urban planning to explore current opportunities to retrofit buildings in high-efficiency a/c, as well as examine long-term technology development and collaboration.

Participants will engage in a roundtable discussion focusing on advancing energy efficiency in new building delivery and retrofits, using the developments made at The Navy Yard as a foundation for the conversation. The Navy Yard is the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) test bed for commercial building innovation.

Specific topics include creating a vision for the clean city; policy, sustainability, and economic modeling; EEBHub research status — the DOE initiative to design the “whole building systems” buildings of the future; growth development for The Navy Yard facility — targets and types of facilities to be brought online; design, specification, technology needs for clean energy buildings; and technologies for sustainable energy.

Attendees will also receive a briefing on The Navy Yard Research Facility and get to tour its complex.
