Sept. 10, 2012: Carrier Introduces New Rooftop Unit Selection Mobile App

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Carrier has introduced its Carrier® Rooftops app, a new mobile app developed to assist customers with the selection of rooftop units. According to the company, the app is the first of its kind in the commercial HVAC industry.

“As a leader in innovation and the development of energy-efficient products, Carrier is using the latest in mobile technology to help customers make informed decisions on commercial HVAC technology and products,” said Greg Alcorn, vice president, sales and marketing, Commercial Systems, Carrier.

Carrier said it created the app to enable customers to perform on-the-spot selection of rooftop units for replacement or new construction and estimate the potential energy savings that can be realized with Carrier Weather Series rooftop units. Users can input an existing Carrier unit model number or the desired unit specifications and obtain the optimal Carrier model to meet those requirements. Once customers have selected the best solution for their application, they can enter their zip code and connect to a local distributor by phone, email, or text message to obtain real-time pricing and delivery information.

“With the Carrier Rooftops app, equipment selection has never been easier or more efficient,” said Alcorn. “For those working on any type of project, they can quickly compare and evaluate Carrier models using the new app to determine the best unit to meet their specific needs.”

The app is free and available for download at www.commercial.carrier.com, the Apple® App Store, and Google® Play App Store for the iPad® tablet, and iPhone® and Android™ smartphones.
