MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada’s (HRAI’s) manufacturers division recently reported that residential air conditioner shipments increased 16 percent in the first quarter of 2012 as compared to the first quarter of 2011.
Other sectors showing increases included residential furnace shipments, 8 percent; ductless split shipments, 5 percent; commercial air conditioners, 3 percent; and unit heater shipments, 1 percent. Additionally, air handler unit shipments climbed 17 percent and chiller shipments rose 12 percent over previous first quarter numbers.
