RSES Conference Adds Sessions

DES PLAINES, Ill. — The Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) has added four educational sessions designed to enhance the programming offered during its 75th annual RSES conference and HVACR technology expo, slated for Nov. 14-17 at the Wild Dunes Resort, Isle of Palms, S.C.

A “Combining Today’s Compression Solutions with Tomorrow’s Compression Technologies” event will be led by Barry Rust of Bristol Compressors International Inc. (Bristol, Va.). Rust’s session will cover compressor overviews, research, reliability, field failures, future technologies, troubleshooting, and more.

Riley Archer of RectorSeal Corp. will lead the “Compressor Starting Problems” session. The seminar will target intermediate- to advanced-level audience members covering electrical and mechanical dynamics that occur during the first second of a compressor motor start-up.

John Cannamela, Infrared Survey (Charlotte, N.C.), and Kirk Peterson, ZehHVAC (East Hampton, Conn.) will cover infrared cameras and their uses for heating and cooling system diagnostics.

The “Why Ammonia?” session will be led by Jim Price of RETA and Hansen Technologies Corp. (Arlington, Texas). Price will cover the advantages of using ammonia as a refrigerant, the engineering and economic advantages of ammonia, and the opportunities available in industrial refrigeration.
