WALDWICK, N.J. — Armistead Mechanical Inc. received the Governor’s Award from the New Jersey Governor’s Occupational Safety and Health Awards Program at a special reception in Totowa on May 24. The award recognized companies that displayed exemplary workplace safety during the 2011 calendar year.

The Governor’s Award connotes consistency as well as accomplishment: it was granted to Armistead Mechanical for having no work-related lost time from injury or illness for four consecutive years. Prior to attaining the Governor’s award, companies must achieve several other recognitions in previous years, including the Division of Public Safety and Occupational Safety and Health Award, and the Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development Award.

“Being recognized by the Governor’s Occupational Safety and Health Awards Program shows our customers that Armistead Mechanical is committed to the prevention of workplace injury and illness and the well-being of our employees through our safety programs,” said Robert T. Armistead, P.E., president of Armistead Mechanical. “Our workers report to their job sites each day with the full confidence that their safety is being looked after, and that makes them more confident, capable professionals to the benefit of our customers.”
