WEST CHESTER, Pa. — American Air Distributing Inc., a distributor of the Luxaire® brand of HVAC equipment from Johnson Controls, sponsored a wish for 4-year-old Dwayne, a kidney transplant recipient, and his family to go on a Caribbean cruise.

Luxaire is celebrating a Decade of Wishes Comes True with the Make-a-Wish Foundation®. Since 2001, Luxaire has sponsored the wish-granting organization; through its network of heating and air conditioning dealers and distributors, it has donated more than $2.4 million, enough to grant nearly 330 wishes.

“Helping to grant wishes for kids like Dwayne and families that are affected by illness is one way we can give back to our community,” said Tom Frank, sales manager at American Air. “We strongly endorse the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and with the support of our employees, we will continue to raise money so that we can grant more wishes.”

Dwayne was referred to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Philadelphia & Susquehanna Valley after he received his kidney transplant. “I saw a commercial on television about the cruise ship,” Dwayne said. “The pools and the slides on the ship were the coolest things.”

“This experience has given us something positive to focus on as we coped with Dwayne’s medical issues over the past months,” said Dwayne’s mother, Jeannine. “We thank the Make-A-Wish Foundation from the bottom of our hearts for giving us the opportunity to spend this special time together as a family.”

“The ability to help grant wishes for children and their families is a meaningful achievement for Luxaire distributors and dealers, who are proud to be a part of such a deserving organization,” said Mary Mocarski, Luxaire brand manager. “Wishes are a tremendous source of joy for children and their families, and also deepen the bond between Luxaire and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.”
