Right Suite Universal automatically uses manufacturer-supplied data to follow the Manual S procedure to select appropriate equipment. Manual S is an Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) method for matching heating and cooling equipment size to the needs of a house, and laying out a procedure for selecting equipment based on the Manual J load calculations. The final result of the Manual S method is to select the lowest capacity equipment that can meet all requirements of the load. Using the software saves the designer thousands of manual calculations, reducing the process to simply picking from a list of equipment, the company said. To expedite and guarantee accuracy of calculations, the company said it updates the Air-Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Institute’s (AHRI) equipment database weekly. According to the company, it works directly with manufacturers to maintain a database for thousands of HVAC systems and models. This avails data for millions of potential combinations, so Right Suite Universal users have easy access to equipment capabilities and capacities for any of the brands they represent. If manufacturer data hasn’t been submitted, Right Suite Universal includes input fields to expedite calculations. A Manual S compliance report is also available for submitting to inspectors.
