ALPHARETTA, Ga. — LG Electronics announced that it has achieved BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL) certification for the company’s BACnet gateway product (model PQNFB17B0), assuring enhanced compatibility and interoperability with building management systems.

“BTL certification is a standard that customers have come to expect when installing new HVAC equipment. LG is committed to supporting processes that allow us to deliver solutions that best suit the needs of our U.S. customers,” said Kevin McNamara, vice president, Commercial Air Conditioning, LG Electronics USA. “Matching our advanced air conditioning technology with the sort of advanced communications offered by BACnet Testing Laboratories certification further supports LG’s commitment to leadership in the U.S. HVAC market.”

BTL certification ensures control interoperability and compatibility with a wide range of third-party products and building management systems, expanding the possibilities for building owners and integrators seeking to use a BACnet-compliant control system. The BTL mark, established to support compliance testing and interoperability activities, indicates that a product has passed the rigorous testing conducted by an independent laboratory and correctly implements the BACnet features claimed in the listing.

LG said its model PQNFB17B0 includes an improved graphical user interface for configuration and diagnostic activities. LG also added additional features for setting and monitoring indoor unit upper and lower temperature setpoint locks and indoor unit mode locks, McNamara said.
