May 30, 2012: Danfoss Turbocor Compressors Expands China Operations

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Danfoss Turbocor Compressors (DTC) has announced the opening of a new Regional Service Center in Shanghai, China, planned for fall of this year.

DTC said the Regional Service Center will improve its support of Chinese customers through local stocking of compressors and parts, diagnostics and testing capabilities. By the end of next year, DTC will also offer the capability to perform product customization for the Chinese market. DTC will operate under the umbrella of Danfoss China to optimize all support functions and logistics set-up.

George Li will serve as general manager and leader of the China Regional Service Center.

Li previously held several positions with Ericsson in Sweden and Asia, including systems design and integration engineer, technology/project manager, and business development manager. He served as chief representative of Mobitex Networks, a division of Ericsson, as well as director of national security at Ericsson Business Unit Systems. Most recently, he was acting as general manager of Elanders Digital Company in Beijing, China.

Li will join the Danfoss Turbocor Leadership Team, reporting to the president and CEO of Danfoss Turbocor, Ricardo Schneider, and all DTC employees located in China, including Sales and Marketing, Technical Support, and Supply Chain, will report to Li.

“We are very excited to have George on board. He is a great addition to our team and fits very well in our aggressive plans for China,” said Schneider. “The timing in China is perfect as the whole country starts to shift towards energy efficiency and focus on CO2 emissions reduction. The Danfoss Turbocor Value Proposition, offering a superior energy efficient compressor for the commercial HVAC industry, is well aligned with China’s move toward a lower carbon emissions economy.”
