HONG KONG — More than 33,000 individuals from 51 countries and regions visited Shanghai, China for the second annual China International Trade Fair for Sanitation, Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning, April 4-6, at Beijing’s New China International Exhibition Center.

The show, organized by Messe Frankfurt Co. Ltd. and B&D Tiger Exhibition Co. Ltd., attracted 816 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions.

“Each year our show continues to be even more successful and this confirms that the merger is of great benefit to the HVAC and sanitation industries,” said Richard Li, deputy general manager of Messe Frankfurt, China. “For this year’s show we increased exhibition space by 43 percent to showcase a comprehensive range of products tailored to meet Chinese needs.”

The increased floor space allowed numerous exhibitors, including Anhui Anze Electric Co. Ltd., Giacomini Heating and Cooling Technology Co. Ltd., and IVT GmbH & Co., to increase their booth space.

“Our new venue has proven to be very popular with exhibitors as it offers better facilities and an opportunity for companies to have larger booths,” said Li Hongbo, general manager, Beijing B&D Tiger Exhibition Co. Ltd. “Many of this year’s exhibitors have already said they want a bigger space at next year’s show.”

ISH China and CIHE also presented the Sino European Congress. This year’s theme was “Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies in Buildings.” The congress was opened by Ulrich Schmidt, chairman, Association of the European Heating Industry.

“It creates a platform for exchange of industry trends and solutions and fosters energy efficiency,” he said. “It’s our responsibility to exchange existing solutions with countries that still have a lot of potential for energy efficiency. China is a fast growing nation and there is a lot of energy-efficiency demand.”

The one-day congress attracted a large audience. Jonathan Zhu, general manager, China’s Fiber Tech Trading Co. Ltd., said, “The presentation on gas condensing boiler was inspiring and gave me an idea about the developing pace and the possible size of the market. It also helped me to evaluate how the technology can be applied to our product.”

Thomas Baars, heating division, Beijing Building Technology Development Co. Ltd., said, “The congress is good because there is a lot of information that doesn’t reach this side of the subcontinent. This way the information gets spread in a faster and more efficient way.”

The next ISH China & CIHE is scheduled for April 2013 in Beijing. For more information, visit www.ishc-cihe.com or email info@ishc-cihe.com.
