Carrier Preps for Cooling Anniversary

FARMINGTON, Conn. — This year marks the 110th anniversary of the July 17, 1902 invention of modern air conditioning by Dr. Willis Haviland Carrier. Carrier Corp. is celebrating this milestone with the launch of a new website dedicated to its history, and the life and work of Willis Carrier.

The website, www.williscarrier.com, will also feature a special 110 to the 110th countdown of facts regarding Willis Carrier and the Carrier Corp.

In addition to the new history website, Carrier will publish a 148-page hardcover book of the company’s history in June.

“Willis Carrier’s foresight changed the world forever and paved the way for over a century of once-impossible innovations,” said John Mandyck, chief sustainability officer, UTC Climate, Controls & Security. “Today, Carrier honors his legacy by reinventing the industry through continued innovation and a commitment to sustainability.”
