Stephens was born June 6, 1948, in Munford, Ala. He was a U.S. veteran, having served in the Air Force for over 33 years. Stephens worked as an apprentice instructor at the Mechanical Trade Institute, and was a member of Plumbers, Pipefitters, and Service Technicians Local 72.
Survivors include his wife, mother, sons and daughters-in-law, grandchildren, sisters, and brothers.
The family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Ste. 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
