On Dec. 29, 2011, the company said that it had opened a 6,000-square-foot parts center in Durham, N.C. The new location is positioned to support the growing commercial and industrial business base in central North Carolina, the company said. The store employs four associates.

“Reducing downtime is the number-one concern for facilities managers and commercial heating and air conditioning specialists,” said Ken Qualls, director, Brady Parts. “As the Triangle and Triad regions continue to expand outward, travel times to acquire parts from the Greensboro and Raleigh parts centers have gotten longer.”

The facility will serve Durham, Chatham, Orange, Granville, and Person counties, as well as the eastern half of Alamance and Caswell counties. Managing the Durham location is Mike Aulis-Hill, a three-year Brady parts store employee, who has transferred from the Raleigh location. New to Brady are Mike Kaffenberger, who has 15 years of experience in HVAC, as well as Kenneth King, who has four years of experience in HVAC parts and an associate degree in Business Administration from Wingate University. Phil Cable, a 25-year veteran in wholesaling, heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, has also transferred from the Raleigh store and will support outside sales activities.

On Jan. 5, 2012, the company reported on its “Food Fight” competition to raise donations in support of local food banks. Greensboro-based Brady associates raised cash donations to purchase 4,920 meals for the Second Harvest Food Bank in Winston-Salem, N.C. Raleigh-based associates raised enough to purchase 2,561 meals for the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.

On Jan. 9, 2012, it announced that Nicholas Martin has been elected as vice chairman for the Piedmont Chapter of the Vibration Institute, a not-for-profit organization that allows for the exchange of information about vibration and condition monitoring of machinery. He will serve one-year on the board of directors.
