ClimateTalkCHICAGO — Remote Access Standards, a new white paper from the ClimateTalk Alliance, reviews the capabilities for remote access within the ClimateTalk Open Standards. The alliance is an organization of companies committed to developing a common communication framework for HVAC and smart grid devices.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is currently developing a new Energy Star specification for Residential Climate Controls, which includes requirements for remote user interface plus capabilities to respond to peak energy pricing.

The white paper defines the actions being taken to ensure that devices designed to ClimateTalk standards meet the EPA’s requirements for Residential Climate Controls.
